Introdans at the Dutch Dance Days 2026

During the Dutch Dance Days 2026, Introdans presents Polish Pieces in the Hans van Manen programme; one of his most effervescent and colourful works, which has been part of the company’s repertoire since 2012. Set to powerful, driving music by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Van Manen lets twelve dancers in garishly coloured tunics storm the stage with constantly fresh dance combinations and a fantastically clear play of lines. The group sections are tightly choreographed, full of energy, pulsating, and in the duets the stakes are raised even higher.

The collaboration between Introdans and Hans van Manen began more than thirty years ago with the ballet Ajakaboembie and grew into a rich artistic relationship. With no fewer than 20 ballets by the master choreographer in its repertoire, Introdans and Hans van Manen are inextricably linked.

With his passing in December 2025, the dance world lost a brilliant source of inspiration, a perceptive artist, and someone who permanently transformed dance, both in the Netherlands and far beyond. Introdans will continue to perform his ballets with pride and dedication, ensuring they keep touching generations of dancers and audiences alike.

Polish Pieces (Hans van Manen)
Hans van Manen’s Polish Pieces is without doubt one of his most vibrant and colourful works. Set to the powerful, driving music of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Van Manen sends twelve dancers in brightly coloured tunics sweeping across the stage in ever changing combinations and strikingly clear patterns. The ensemble sections are sharp, energetic and pulsating, while the duets build the tension even further.

IKoon presentation Pro Persona and Introdans on October 8
During the Dutch Dance Days 2026, Introdans and Pro Persona will share their experiences with the IKoon project on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as part of the Dance and Wellbeing programme. IKoon is the special dance project in which clients with anxiety or depressive symptoms work on joy, self-confidence, and connection through dance. In an interactive workshop, choreographer Adriaan Luteijn and professionals from Pro Persona take participants on a journey both in front of and behind the scenes of IKoon. Together, we explore what dance can mean for mental wellbeing.
