Filmmaker Inge Theunissen’s dance film “Circular” was created in response to one of Introdans’ Encounters by Artistic Initiator of Interaction & Inclusion, Adriaan Luteijn: Circular (2018). He created a choreography for two Introdans dancers and a dancer with cerebral palsy. The film has already received multiple awards and nominations, and this time Inge Theunissen, Introdans’ regular filmmaker, receives the third place for the “Screendance Award” at Cinedanza: International Screendance Festival and Contest 2023.

Introdans has been invited by Radboud University in the context of the celebration of its 100th anniversary on October 19, 20 and 21, 2023. Introdans created a vibrant and festive spectacle: the Red Bow Club. It was a struggle to get in and at every performance there was a line out the door at least 45 minutes before it started.

At the celebration of his fortieth anniversary at Introdans, Voorintholt was appointed to Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau in the presence of the patroness of Introdans Princess Margriet. A phenomenal honour, for his many years of contribution to dance.

Last week our company manager Jamy went to Seoul, South Korea as a jury member and teacher for VIBE International. Contestants were judged on their technical skills and, most importantly, artistry! She gave two dance workshops and judged for a day: one of the students won a week of shadowing at Introdans as a prize!

The combination of dance and Bach is something to look forward to. The patterns and variations in the master composer’s music demand a choreographic translation. It is extremely satisfying when dancers make sequential movements during the layered melodies. That’s when you see the music, and you hear the dance. The two parts of the Bach programme with which Introdans is currently on tour, bring about that delightful synergy.

Together with Theater Oostpool, Phion and Musis & Stadstheater, this May Introdans will present an interdisciplinary theater performance with dance, theater and music with no less than 64 young amateur players: Paradiso! A contemporary translation of one of the most famous books in world literature by Dante Alighieri. The performance will take place on May 5th (premiere), May 6th and May 7th.

Toneelgroep Oostpool, Introdans, Phion, Orchestra of Gelderland & Overijssel and Musis & Stadstheater present a grand and hallucinatory theatre spectacle: Midsummer Night’s Dream. The famous Shakespeare classic in a completely new production with 12 actors, 12 dancers and 13 musicians on stage.

Karin Lambrechtse was a dancer with Introdans until 2013. She is now Performance Chef, Foodcoach coordinator and sports dietitian at the most successful cycling team of the moment: Team Jumbo-Visma. She now knows what the effect of eating well on your condition and performance is. That is why Karin is happy to give us advice on good nutrition for a healthy dance life.
