Introdans and Valkhof Museum present an interactive dance workshop and the ballet The Mirror during Kunstnacht 2026.
“Dance is the hidden language of the soul,” once said the renowned choreographer Martha Graham. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of movement and discover what you see in the mirror. During the Kunstnacht Nijmegen on Saturday, 19 September 2026, Introdans, in collaboration with Valkhof Museum, presents a special programme featuring both a performance and an interactive dance workshop. Be inspired by the powerful ballet The Mirror by choreographer Fernando Melo, in which two dancers explore the boundaries of reflection and connection. You will also take part in an interactive workshop that seamlessly connects with both the ballet and the theme of emotions explored in the exhibition From Within. Here, art challenges you to look inward – and to express what you discover there.
Dance as a Reflection of Yourself
In the exhibition From Within, five artists explore five fundamental emotions through the collection of Valkhof Museum. What brings them joy? What sparks their sense of wonder? And do you feel the same – or something entirely different? In the dance workshop by Introdans, you will mirror emotions through movement. What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? How do you move, and how does someone else move? Guided by Introdans teaching artists, you will discover that dance is not only an art form but also a language without words, a way of connecting with yourself and with others. The workshop is open to participants of all levels: Introdans believes that everyone can dance. Join in, be surprised, and experience how dance can become a mirror of your inner world.
