Introdans at the Nederlandse Dansdagen 2025

From 3-9 October 2025, Maastricht will be dedicated to Dutch dance for an entire week, featuring top performances, intimate premieres, dance evenings, and club nights. Introdans will be present on two nights: the Gala on October 3 and Meesterwerken on October 4.

Nederlandse Dansdagen Gala – Friday, October 3, 2025
Duet from Iungo (Adriaan Luteijn)
Especially for the Gala, we will present an impressive duet from Iungo, performed by two guest dancers from Introdans, each excelling in their own unique way: presenter and writer Eva Eikhout and Ugandan contemporary dancer Joseph Tebandeke. Together, they captured the audience’s hearts with their powerful and moving performance.

Iungo is Latin for “I bring together / I connect,” and that’s exactly what choreographer Adriaan Luteijn excels at. In his series De Ontmoeting – of which Iungo is a part – he has been bringing together people from diverse physical, social, and cultural backgrounds with academically trained modern dancers at Introdans for over 25 years. The aim is to show that dance is for everyone and that dancers who don’t fit the standard mold can deeply move and amaze audiences.
De Volkskrant wrote about Iungo (September 23, 2024): “The beautiful choreography Iungo sends the audience into ecstasy.”

Meesterwerken – Saturday, October 4, 2025
Canto Ostinato (Lucinda Childs)
American choreographer Lucinda Childs is often called the queen of minimalist dance. This year, she turned 85, and Introdans celebrated this milestone with the ICOON focus programme last spring—an homage to this grand lady of American dance. Introdans has built a rich oeuvre of both existing and new works by Childs,  — no fewer than 10 pieces are part of our repertoire, including Canto Ostinato (2015). Not only Simeon ten Holt’s composition but also the choreography by the renowned American choreographer has moved many audiences.

Childs’ movement language is truly unique: using abstract, almost mathematical methods, she creates the most complex masterpieces with relatively simple ballet and athletic movements. Her work demands the utmost from the dancers—maximum dance expression to minimal music—while offering the audience a meditative experience.

Iungo (Adriaan Luteijn)
The full piece Iungo will be performed as part of the Meesterwerken programme, allowing you to experience the complete choreography in its entirety. Iungo has now been seen all over the world, including in Osaka during the World Expo 2025 (May 2025). In this edition of Iungo, created by Luteijn for the programme HEROES in September 2024, Introdans dancers meet two guest performers, each excelling in their own way: presenter and writer Eva Eikhout and Ugandan contemporary dancer Joseph Tebandeke. Together, they captured the hearts of audiences.
