For a week, our interaction team will collaborate with students from ArtEZ and employees from Scalabor, under the guidance of Adriaan Luteijn (choreographer and Artistic Initiator Interaction & Inclusion at Introdans), to work on a dance piece. The idea behind Scalabor Bruist is that everyone can dance, regardless of age or physical limitations.
The idea behind Scalabor Bruist is that everyone can dance, regardless of age or physical limitations. For a week, students from ArtEZ worked together with employees from Scalabor and the interaction team from Introdans, under the guidance of Adriaan Luteijn (choreographer and Artistic Initiator Interaction & Inclusion at Introdans), to create a short choreography. The focus was on exchange, acceptance, love, and openness.
In this new 2024 edition, we specifically target a younger audience, with programs and activities tailored to their interests and needs. The working week takes place in the week of September 23, 2024.
Scalabor Bruist is a collaborative project between Introdans and Scalabor as part of Introdans’ Great Connection Plan 2021-2024, and is made possible in part by the Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and Stichting Doen/Vriendenloterijfonds.

“What I find most important to convey is that dance and expressing yourself creatively through movement are for everyone. It should not be confined to a certain type of body, someone’s background, life opportunities, any baggage they may carry, gender, or physical condition. It was with this mindset that I also reached out to Scalabor. They are one of the many partners we collaborate with to reach people in the social and community domain. In creating modern dance productions, I’ve come to realize over the years that you can create amazing things with people from all walks of life. On one hand, we have our classically trained dancers who are among the absolute top in the world, and on the other hand, there are people on stage whom the audience wouldn’t typically expect to see in a theater. Bringing together two completely different worlds creates, for me as a creator, interesting artistic chemistry.”
Noortje Bijvoets – Head of the Bachelor of Dance at ArtEZ University of the Arts
“It remains truly remarkable that three quite different organizations manage to organize this together, and that in such a short time something so beautiful is created! – Many thanks once again to Adriaan, Nina, Chantal, Louise, Mironne, and Diana for this tour de force!”
