Presence – context programme with End of Season 2025 Introdans
April 16, 2025
In Presence, technology and dance meet in a quiet dialogue. Three dancers from Introdans interact with Resonance, an art work by art and design studio Fillip Studios, resulting in a dynamic interplay of movement. As the dancers approach the art work, which consists of three water basins, it comes to life with gentle sounds and vibrations, creating delicate patterns on the water’s surface. Every step and every movement makes the water speak. The dancers move in a slow ritual—not as individuals, but as extensions of a breathing system: a sculptural dance in constant repetition.
The performance explores interconnectedness and shows how presence can shape the environment. Presence is a project by art and design studio Fillip Studios, Introdans, and former Introdans dancer and choreographer Jurriën Schobben. It takes place in the foyer, before and during the intermission of the End of Season 2025 programme.
Presence is a performance without a beginning or end. It is a moment you step into and out of—like entering a landscape that exists endlessly.
Introdans regularly collaborates with Fillip Studios, including on the inflatable stage designs for Swan Lake and the Virtual Dance Carousel – an interactive installation using Augmented Reality. Fillip Studios is also designing the interactive set for a new choreography by Fernando Melo, which will premiere next season as part of Introdans’ Less is More programme.
