From October 2024 to February 2025, Introdans offers a unique, interactive experience in Rozet in Arnhem: the Virtual Dance Carousel. A collaboration with Rozet and Fillip Studios in which Introdans takes a new step into the virtual world. The Virtual Dance Carousel will be a physical installation, combined with a digital layer in Augmented Reality (AR) that introduces children and adults to the world of dance in an accessible way. Preparations for this project are now in full swing. The digital content – which will soon be put into AR – has been recorded with Introdansers Verine, Floris and Alberto and Jurriën Schobben as narrator. For the first time, the content for the Virtual Dance Carousel will be linked to The Nutcracker, our new family show that can be seen in theaters from December.

When you enter Rozet in Arnhem, a large object (carousel diorama) will immediately catch your eye. This round object, which you can walk around, has several small ‘rooms’. Each room represents a different space, for example the dance studio, the dressing room, the set studio, the costume studio and the theater. Visitors can scan the image with an iPad or phone, after which a digital world comes to life via Augmented Reality (AR) and you are taken into the virtual world of Introdans. The magic of The Nutcracker comes to life. It is also interactive, as a viewer you can choose from different options to shape your own story. We can’t tell everything yet, but it will be great! The aim of this digital project is to introduce new target groups to dance (and Introdans) in an inspiring way and to discover how fun and playful dance can be.
