What a wonderful recognition: our performance TYPHOON ranks number 5 in the top 10 most beautiful theatre productions of the first half of 2025, compiled by Het Parool.
In their overview of the best theatre so far this year, the editors praise the power, emotion, and energy of TYPHOON. An honourable mention for everyone who contributed to this production.
TYPHOON (Krisztina de Châtel)
In February, Introdans revived this precisely danced and tensely structured performance by Krisztina de Châtel, the Dutch queen of minimalist dance. De Châtel passed away on June 3 at the age of 81.
She first staged TYPHOON in 1986, placing five dancers in overalls and safety goggles opposite the wind. Set to Simeon ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato, they move against the wind—controlled, powerful, and with subtle shifts. You simply can’t take your eyes off it.
