October is the Month of History. One month each year, we show people that understanding the past is essential to make sense of the world around us. That includes stories from people who didn’t grow up in the Netherlands.
The dance project Wortelen focuses on those stories. Together with 10 participants with a migration background and 10 mbo-dance students Introdans, the Month of History, and the Netherlands Open Air Museum are creating a performance that invites reflection on this theme. What does a migrant bring with them, and what do they leave behind? How does a history of migration continue to shape the present?
The performances will take place at the Parcivalschool in Malburgen (17 October), the Eusebius Church (18 October), and the Netherlands Open Air Museum (19 October).
We’re looking for 10 mbo-dance students to join the Wortelen project. Will you be one of them? Register and more informatie here.
