Scalabor Bruist 2025

Scalabor Bruist 2025

In September 2025, Introdans will spend a week collaborating with students from ArtEZ Dance Artist, employees of the employment development company Scalabor, and new partner Musis on a short choreography. The project is led by choreographer and Artistic Initiator Interaction & Inclusion at Introdans, Adriaan Luteijn. Throughout the week, empowerment, connection, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and openness are at the heart of the process. The idea behind Scalabor Bruist is that everyone can dance, regardless of age or physical limitation. Scalabor employees are introduced to the experience of art and to a meaningful artistic encounter. Second-year dance students are made aware of social issues and experience what takes place outside their immediate world. The four organizations share knowledge with each other on inclusive working and production practices. The final presentation will take place at Musis on Thursday, September 25, 2025, where the participants will showcase their creativity to the audience.

Scalabor Bruist is a collaborative project by Introdans, Scalabor, ArtEZ and Musis. It is part of Introdans’ De dansverbinding++. Scalabor Bruist is supported by Stichting DOEN/VriendenLoterijFonds.

2024 edition: participant Guetjens shares
“In a short time, you suddenly get very close to each other and feel a connection, even if you might not understand each other. That in itself is already interesting. You break through fixed patterns and within two hours you’re chatting with each other as if you were family.”

Adriaan Luteijn – Artistic Initiator Interaction & Inclusion at Introdans
“What I find most important to convey is this: dance and creative expression through movement is for everyone. It should not be confined within the framework of a certain type of body, someone’s background, life opportunities, personal challenges, gender or physical condition. From this perspective, I also connected with Scalabor. They are one of the many partners we collaborate with to reach people from the social domain. While creating contemporary dance productions, I have discovered over the years that you can create incredible things with people from all walks of life. On the one hand, we have our academically trained dancers who belong to the absolute world elite, and on the other hand, we have people on stage who the audience might not expect to see in a theater. Bringing together these two completely different worlds creates an exciting artistic chemistry for me as a creator. In such a week we embark on an adventure together without knowing what the outcome will be. We improvise, we transform daily activities into movement, and we let participants experience that they truly can dance.”

2024 edition: Noortje Bijvoets – Head of Bachelor Dance at ArtEZ University of the Arts
“It remains truly special that three rather different organizations manage to create this together, and that in such a short time something so beautiful comes out of it! – Many thanks again to Adriaan, Nina, Chantal, Louise, Mironne and Diana for this tour de force!”
