Groove – Glitter – Good Vibes
Welcome to the Pink Panther disco!
Introdans invites you to join the swinging dance production Pink Panther Party, a journey into the tolerant disco culture of the 1970s. For over 50 years, the company has been committed to introducing as many people as possible to the world of dance. With Pink Panther Party, Introdans presents a dance celebration for everyone, where various dance styles and dancers from diverse backgrounds come together on the dance floor. The vibrant cast of Pink Panther Party includes over 20 dancers—Introdans’ classically trained contemporary dancers alongside performers from other (dance) worlds, young and older super talents alike. The choreography is by Adriaan Luteijn and Chantal de Vries.
Trouw once wrote: “Introdans’ loose hips keep the spirit of disco very much alive.” As a visitor of Pink Panther Party, you’re not just a spectator—you become part of the spectacle. You start out watching, but end up joining in. Because Introdans believes: everyone can dance!
When Pink Panther Party premiered in 2021 as a special anniversary production celebrating Introdans’ 50th year, it debuted in the Introdans Studio Theater—formerly the legendary Arnhem nightclub De Pink Panther—and it quickly became a hit. Due to its great success, Introdans brought the production back for a sold-out series of shows at Stadstheater Arnhem in August 2022. In 2025, Pink Panther Party returns in an extended edition with a brand-new cast and surprising new locations.
The premiere of Pink Panther Party will take place at De Vereeniging in Nijmegen on 19 December 2025, with additional performances in Musis Arnhem (October).
Tour: 16 October – 30 December 2025
Locations: Arnhem, Nijmegen
Choreographers Adriaan Luteijn and Chantal de Vries drew inspiration from the 1970s—the era in which friends Ton Wiggers and Hans Focking founded Introdans. It was a time of ideals and possibilities, and also the rise of disco. In New York, members of the gay, Latino, and Black communities gathered in safe spaces to dance, simply because they weren’t welcome in mainstream clubs. This gave birth to disco music, dance, and the disco clubs themselves. The building Introdans now occupies holds a legendary piece of (Arnhem’s) disco history: Discotheque Pink Panther. Today’s dancers rehearse daily in the same place where, decades ago, visitors spent their weekends on a glass dance floor, enjoying live performances by disco legends like Percy Sledge and The Trammps. Luteijn and De Vries collected stories from former visitors and used them as inspiration for this dance production, which takes you on a night out in the Pink Panther.
In March 2025, choreographer Adriaan Luteijn received the Gelderland Culture Award from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds for his long-standing inclusive work. “In his productions, Adriaan brings together worlds and people. He bridges seemingly opposing forces and gives physicality a new meaning. Dance tells the story of connection,” said the jury.
