Dans Speciaal

Under the name Dans Speciaal, Introdans has been working for several years with De Onderwijsspecialisten, an educational organisation for special education schools (primary and secondary) in Gelderland, on projects for students in special education. Through this collaboration, Introdans and De Onderwijsspecialisten are jointly leading the way in creating distinctive dance projects for special education. The impact on the students, their environment and on Introdans itself is significant.

Dans Speciaal is an in depth educational dance project that offers students from De Onderwijsspecialisten a unique introduction to the world of theatre, dance and technical production. Through workshops, theatre experiences and a final performance, students are immersed in the creative sector, with a strong focus on inclusion, talent development and regional cultural heritage.

Dans Speciaal consists of three parts: Behind the Scenes, Rehearsal Time and The Big Show. In the first two phases, students prepare step by step for a joint performance. They take part in workshops on dance, technical production and costume, and rehearse at school with Introdans teachers. The project concludes with a large scale performance in which all participating classes perform together, supported by students working behind the scenes, with an audience present and a livestream.

The theme of this year’s The Big Show is Pink Panther Party XXL.
Five scenes are selected from the original choreography.

The Big Show takes place on 12 February at the Akoesticum in Ede and is a closed event.
