Someone who did not only create choreographies, but shaped Dutch dance in a lasting way. For many, he was “a living piece of dance history”, a brilliant maker with a sharp eye and a clear, distinctive language.

Introdans mourns the passing of Hans van Manen (1932–2025). With his death, we lose one of the greatest choreographers the art of dance has ever produced. Hans van Manen was a brilliant source of inspiration, a sharp-minded artist and a creator who fundamentally changed dance, in the Netherlands and far beyond. His work is praised for its clarity, musicality and human power, and continues to move generations of dancers and audiences.

Two Introdans dancers honoured by Dansersfonds ’79

Two Introdans dancers have been honored by Dansersfonds ’79. Demi Verheezen received the Special Prize for her artistic growth, strong technique, and radiant stage presence, while Mark van Drunick was awarded the Encouragement Prize for his remarkable development and dedication. The awards are being presented during the Dutch Ballet Gala, dedicated this year to Roel Voorintholt.
