Introdans is getting a new home in the heart of Arnhem

Fantastic news 🎉 Introdans is getting a new home!
The Provincial Council of Gelderland has given the green light for a future-proof new home for Introdans in the heart of Arnhem. This means we can finally start building an inspiring workplace where dance, creativity and connection come together, and where we can collaborate with many partners in the centre of the city. The new rehearsal building secures the continuity of our work and offers space to grow, in line with our ambitions and our important role in the Dutch cultural landscape.
The need for a new building is urgent: our current location no longer meets today’s standards. The new space will give us the facilities and room to expand, create large-scale productions, and further develop our educational and inclusive work. With this step, the province is investing not just in bricks and mortar — but in a vibrant cultural future for Gelderland.
Our future home will be located at the site of the Roze Gebouw, just a stone’s throw from Stadstheater Arnhem. The area is being developed into a dynamic cultural hotspot in a green urban oasis. This means we’ll be right in the heart of the city and close to our home venue, the renewed Stadstheater. The location offers excellent opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange, aligning perfectly with the national trend of stronger cooperation between theatres and dance companies.
Marieke van ’t Hoff, Business Director:
“We’re incredibly happy and grateful that the Provincial Council has made this decision, and that a new rehearsal building for Introdans will be built at this fantastic location in the centre of Arnhem. We can now begin to design and construct an inclusive, accessible and welcoming Introdans house — a transparent building where the power of dance is visible all day long to residents and visitors. We’ve worked very hard on this together and are really looking forward to shaping the future of Introdans.”
