Name: Lorenzo Topino
Born: 2002, Terni, Italy
Training: Palucca University of Dance Dresden
Experience: Saarländisches Staatstheater; De Dutch Don’t Dance Division; Introdans (since August 2025)
Lorenzo Topino started dancing at the age of six. Every summer at his grandmother’s house, he and the children from the neighbourhood would create little performances for family and neighbours. “I think that’s where my enthusiasm for dance began.” He grew up in a small Italian town, where he had little exposure to the arts. It was not until he started professional dance training that he discovered he could make a career in dance.
He trained at the Palucca University of Dance in Dresden and gained experience at the Saarländisches Staatstheater, followed by De Dutch Don’t Dance Division. His teachers and colleagues are important sources of inspiration and encourage him to keep developing as a dancer. Lorenzo has been part of Introdans since August 2025.
For Lorenzo, dance is more than just movement. “Dance is a place for me to play and learn, and a way to discover new sides of myself.” Music plays an important role in Lorenzo’s experience of dance. He has always enjoyed many different types of music. The fact that his work is so closely connected to music is one of the things he loves most about dance.
On stage, Lorenzo is challenged to be fully present in the moment, something he finds more difficult in everyday life. “I love performing because it gives me a sense of freedom, while also making me very focused. It helps me trust myself and become more confident.”
Lorenzo has always admired Introdans. “I love the highly diverse and high-quality repertoire, as well as the inspiring dancers and productions.” He enjoys dancing with his colleagues and seeing how each of them interprets movement through their own body.
