Ingmar Tedborn

Ingmar Tedborn (2005, Stockholm, Sweden) started out in gymnastics. As the only boy on his team, he was not allowed to take part in the dance section, so he decided to attend a ballet school himself. There, he took his first steps in dance training. From 2015 to 2024, he studied at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. During the final year of his training, he gained experience at Staatstheater Nürnberg. He then joined Introdans as a trainee.

For Ingmar, dance has since become much more than just his profession. “Dance is essential to life for me.” Dance has become so deeply intertwined with his identity that he expects he will always continue to dance in one way or another.

On stage, he is forced to be completely present. “Whether you feel stress, tension, calmness or joy, you have no choice but to be fully there with all your senses.” It is precisely this sense of complete presence that he finds so special about performing.

Visual art is an important source of inspiration for Ingmar, particularly the work of Austrian painter Egon Schiele. His twisted, almost distorted figures inspire Ingmar to translate these forms into dance. In his free time, Ingmar also enjoys painting, one of his great passions.

He joined Introdans by chance, but the many opportunities to continue developing are an important reason for him to stay. Since September 2025, he has been employed by Introdans. The company’s varied repertoire challenges him, giving him the opportunity to grow while also having fun.

One choreographer who inspires Ingmar is Alexander Ekman. “Because I grew up in Sweden, I saw his work from a young age.” The words of choreographer Deborah Hay also resonate strongly with him: “Invite being seen.” To Ingmar, this statement can be applied to almost everything.
