Mission and Vision
Sharing the love for the art of dance with a wide audience – that is Introdans’ mission. From internationally acclaimed dance heritage, contemporary classics for young audiences, and interactive projects to new work: our top-quality repertoire aims to inspire as many people as possible to embrace dance. As a touring repertory company, we are a defining presence not only in our region but also nationally and internationally. With our energetic and dynamic dance language, we appeal to a broad audience.
Since the company’s founding in 1971, we have harnessed the power of dance to serve society. This intrinsic motivation is embedded in our DNA, as is our deep conviction that everyone should be seen and accepted for who they are. This belief is reflected in both our excellent repertoire and our interactive projects. Over the past 25 years, Introdans has acted as a pioneer and driver of interactive dance initiatives, sparking a movement that has become indispensable in the dance landscape. Our ambition is to further integrate high-quality inclusive dance into our regular programming.
Introdans believes in the empowering force of dance – it opens up worlds and connects people with their imagination and with one another. This applies to our audiences in the theatre, to the ensemble of outstanding dancers and guest performers on stage, and to our partners and participants in our artistic, social, and educational activities. This is our vision, and how we, as a company, contribute to an inclusive society.
Profile
Introdans produces and distributes large-scale, distinctive dance works and youth dance productions. As a touring repertory company, we are rooted in Arnhem, at home in the eastern region of the Netherlands, and a welcome guest on stages both nationally and internationally. Our repertoire stands out from other dance companies in the Dutch Basic Infrastructure (BIS) due to our focus on:
— internationally significant dance heritage in accessible programmes for broad audiences,
— contemporary, large-scale classics for young audiences (in school and family settings),
— innovative and inclusive work integrated into our regular programming.
Goals
Introdans is dedicated to developing top-level dance for a broad audience. Our distinctive artistic excellence goes hand in hand with interaction, participation, and inclusion, which are embedded in both our artistic and business strategies.
Codes
Introdans adheres to the Fair Practice Code, the Cultural Governance Code, and the Diversity & Inclusion Code. These codes are firmly embedded in our organisational operations.
Remuneration Policy
Introdans’ remuneration policy complies with legal regulations and subsidy conditions. The remuneration of the Executive Board is determined by the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board itself receives no remuneration, only compensation for reasonable expenses. Personnel are employed under the Collective Labour Agreement for Theatre and Dance. The remuneration of the executive directors complies with the Public and Semi-Public Sector Senior Officials (Standards for Remuneration) Act (WNT), with current salaries set significantly below the legal norm.
