In collaboration with Liemerije and DrieGasthuizenGroep, we organized several Introdans visits this spring: a dance project for older Arnhem residents.
The aim of this accessible dance project at home is to get moving in a fun way. And thus ensure relaxation and a moment of togetherness and connection other than during care. Everyone, including less mobile elderly people or people in wheelchairs, can participate in this project! The dance teachers at Introdans have a lot of experience in giving dance lessons to the elderly. They mainly look at what you can still do and enjoy. Dancing fun comes first!
Introdans is organizing this series as part of Introdans’ Great Connection Plan 21-24. Introdans Visits are made possible by contributions from the Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and VriendenLoterij Fonds.
The Introdans Visit is a one-time short dance visit to a resident in their room or to a small group of residents in the living room of the care home. The education team of Introdans has extensive experience in providing dance lessons to the elderly, including those with psychosomatic and psychogeriatric conditions. The Introdans teacher assesses what the resident is capable of and what engages them. Dance enjoyment is the primary focus. The Introdans teacher moves together with the participant to cheerful music while they are sitting or lying down in their own room.
The Introdans visits took place from February 12 to March 11, 2024, at the locations of DrieGasthuizenGroep Arnhem. And then at Liemerije from April 25 to June 20, 2024.
