Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, also patroness of Introdans, celebrated her birthday on Wednesday February 15th, 2023 in the presence of Introdans at the performance Carmen.maquia in Apeldoorn. A large part of the royal family was present. It was Margriet’s birthday on January 19, when she turned 80.

On February 15th, Princess Margriet attended our performance Carmen.maquia in Theater Orpheus in Apeldoorn. Princess Margriet has been the patroness of the Arnhem dancers for many years and is present at many important events.

The King and Queen and Princess Margriet’s husband, Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, were present at the performance. The Princess was further accompanied with, among others, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, Princess Irene and her daughter Princess Margarita and the children of Margriet and Pieter, together with their partners. The dance performance Carmen.maquia by the Spanish choreographer Gustavo Ramirez Sansano tells a story about love and jealousy. It is a mixture of modern dance, flamenco and the paso doble, a Spanish style dance in which bullfighting is depicted.
