Presikhaaf University 2026

Dance encounters in Arnhem East

Since 2025, Introdans and Presikhaaf University have been working together on projects that focus on dance, encounter, and connection in Arnhem East. Both organizations are partners in the National Program Arnhem Oost and share the ambition of making art and culture accessible to everyone in the neighbourhood.

The collaboration began during the symposium of the National Program Arnhem Oost on Thursday, June 26, 2025. For this occasion, residents of the neighbourhood from different generations performed a short choreography from Iungo by choreographer Adriaan Luteijn together with Introdans. Over the course of six rehearsals, participants learned a fragment of this inclusive choreography. The performance was not only a special moment during the symposium, but also the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Introdans and Presikhaaf University.

Danskracht Presikhaaf workshops – Spring 2026
In spring 2026, the next step in the collaboration took place with the workshop series Danskracht Presikhaaf. Over several weeks, women with a migration background from Presikhaaf came together in a community centre in the neighbourhood. Participants were personally invited and welcomed by community workers and Presikhaaf University. Under the guidance of an Introdans instructor, they were introduced to choreographies from the Introdans repertoire. Joy in movement and social connection were central throughout the process.

The first sessions took place in the neighbourhood. After that, the group travelled together by city bus to the Introdans studios, where participants met the company’s professional dancers.

Maakweek Presikhaaf University – Autumn 2026
From October 19 to 23, 2026, Introdans and Presikhaaf University will organise a third joint project: a creation week with residents from Arnhem East. During this week, co-creation is central, and participants will work together on new material based on movement, encounters, and personal stories. Through this collaboration, Introdans and Presikhaaf University are building step by step towards sustainable connections in the neighbourhood, in which dance becomes a means of bringing people together.
