Introdans presents the 2026–2027 season programme

Dance at its finest, a varied and vibrant season

Dance at its very best. That sums up the 2026 to 2027 season. Introdans presents a varied and vibrant programme, ranging from expressive choreographies and moving dance classics to new creations. For loyal visitors as well as curious newcomers who want to be surprised: the power of dance for everyone. Introdans cherishes proven quality while also creating space for new choreographic voices. Just as a museum honours an artist with a retrospective, Introdans presents a carefully curated evening each spring centred around the work of one leading choreographer. Engaging, dynamic and with a touch of humour. The energy of Introdans gives you a boost that lasts.

Artistic Director of Introdans, Roel Voorintholt: “The 2026 to 2027 season shows the full range of our dance power, from expressive creations to iconic repertoire. I believe it is important to present both groundbreaking classics and surprising new voices. In this way, we stay true to our history while building the future.”

Managing Director of Introdans, Marieke van ’t Hoff: “This season offers a rich and recognisable programme, including an audience favourite like Swan Lake, a spotlight on master choreographer Kylián, and energetic new creations by emerging talent. Accessible and distinctive, for all ages.”

PROGRAMME 2026 to 2027

ENERGY – To dance, to live
An evening full of dynamism, contrast and pure joy in dance. Introdans presents two existing choreographies alongside two world premieres by choreographers with Mediterranean roots. The result is a vibrant programme where expressiveness, musicality and contemporary dance language come together. From the theatrical and playful *Tagadá* by Sofia Nappi and the joyfully energetic *Flabbergast* by Gustavo Ramírez Sansano to two brand-new works by Andonis Foniadakis and Aristide Rontini. A dynamic dance evening that leaves the audience fully recharged.

Swan Lake (ages 6 to 106) – A beloved classic in a modern guise for the whole family
Choreographer Stijn Celis created a contemporary interpretation of *Swan Lake* for the entire family. Following a successful tour three years ago, Introdans brings this world-famous and much-loved classic back to the stage in a fresh and vibrant version for all ages. The dance language is powerful and expressive, rich in poetry, grotesque humour and imagination. With his Swan Lake, Belgian choreographer Celis offers a surprisingly fresh, humorous and innovative take on the “ballet of all ballets”, which continues to be performed worldwide more than 125 years after its premiere. This large-scale and immersive production features the full Introdans ensemble in an impressive setting, carried by the timeless, majestic and moving music of Tchaikovsky.

KYLIAN – A tribute
In this special focus programme, Introdans honours the artistry of master choreographer Jiří Kylián in style. Through iconic works such as Kinderspelen, Petite Mort and Chapeau, the company reveals the strength, beauty and emotion of his influential dance language. The programme also includes a film by Kylián, offering insight into his vision of time, movement and art from different perspectives. KYLIAN is a rich and compelling evening that highlights the lasting significance of his work in the international dance world. With 15 works from Kylián’s extensive oeuvre in its repertoire, Introdans places this remarkable creator firmly in the spotlight. His 80th birthday in 2027 provides a fitting moment to do so. Kylián’s vision extends beyond movement, with staging elements such as lighting and costumes forming an integral part of the choreography. His influential dance theatre has set the tone worldwide.

End of Season 2027 – A vibrant start to the summer
Introdans concludes the season with End of Season 2027, a festive and sparkling evening filled with audience favourites and gems from the repertoire that have lost none of their beauty or impact. Featuring works by Hans van Manen, Inbal Pinto and Lucinda Childs, the programme promises humour, imagination and virtuosity. This edition is made even more special with live music performed by Phion Orchestra. A powerful finale that sends the audience into summer full of energy and joy. The programme includes Black Cake by Hans van Manen, a playful celebration with a wink, Rushes by Inbal Pinto, an extraordinary take on musical chairs, and the swinging minimalist Chairman Dances by Lucinda Childs.

Interaction & Education – the power of dance for everyone
Through our interaction and education programmes, we share the power of dance each year with thousands of school pupils, young people, local residents, people distanced from the labour market, vulnerable elderly individuals and people with intellectual or physical disabilities. Introdans believes in empowerment through dance: it opens up worlds and connects people with their imagination and with each other. Since the company’s founding in 1971, this social commitment has been part of our DNA, as has the belief that everyone belongs, just as they are. In the 2026 to 2027 season, we organise projects for a wide range of groups, from young to old, in collaboration with partners such as Scalabor, Musis & Stadstheater Arnhem, ArtEZ, SWOA, Pro Persona, Liemerije, DrieGasthuizenGroep, Presikhaaf University, Kröller Müller Museum and De Onderwijsspecialisten.
