Iungo on the move again: Colombia edition in the making
20 October 2025
At Introdans, we’re proud that Iungo is once again travelling across the globe. This time, the production heads to Bogotá, Colombia, where on 4 December a new version will premiere during Día de la Diversidad, at the invitation of IDARTES and Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán.
For us, Iungo is a special export format: not only because it is a strong artistic work, but also because it embodies a core value we deeply cherish – our belief in an accessible cast where dancers of different backgrounds, ages and physical realities come together with academically trained professionals.
Choreographer Adriaan Luteijn was in Bogotá last month for the auditions:
“The casting has now been completed and I’m back from an impressive week in Bogotá, where I was introduced by IDARTES and the theatre to excellent dancers and groups, and gave several workshops. The ten-member cast is exactly how I love it most: no one the same, all beautiful and powerful dancers.”
In November, Adriaan will return to Bogotá to lead the rehearsals together with this diverse group of performers. Once again, Iungo shows how dance transcends borders and brings people, worlds and ideas together.
Instituto Distrital de las Artes – Idartes and Teatro Municipal Jorge Eliécer Gaitán shared their enthusiasm about the collaboration:
“Since the current administration arrived in early 2024, we have focused on finding major artistic milestones to celebrate, showcase and think about crucially important moments that happen over the course of the year. Of course, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities deserves a showcase of the highest quality, of world-class aesthetic and conceptual depth. We will inaugurate with Iungo what will become a yearly celebration of diversity and inclusion in its widest range. We couldn’t hope for a better partner than Introdans for this endeavour.”
With Iungo Colombia, Introdans once again reaffirms its mission: connecting through dance, celebrating diversity, and sharing human stories on stages around the world.
